液体窒素によって成型した低カロリーアイスクリームを販売するBoompops北京三里屯ビレッジ店の内装設計。

店舗中央には上階駐車場の車路を支えるためのかなり大きな梁が横断し梁下は1300ｍｍ程度しか確保できず、天井スラブは車路に合わせた傾斜のある断面形状で現場は非常に窮屈な印象であった。我々は傾斜した天井、店舗を分断する大梁を空間の魅力と捉えると同時に液体窒素利用時に発生する白煙を利用し、洞窟内のような秘密めいた空間をデザインすることにした。利用風景を見に行くと窮屈な空間を秘密基地に潜り込むような感覚で喜々として利用する人々が印象的であった。人はたまには窮屈な場所でこっそりアイスを食べたいようだ。

A large beam crossed the shop in the centre of the shop, with only 1300 mm under the beam, and the ceiling slab had a sloping section. We considered the sloping ceiling and the beams dividing the shop as an attractive feature of the space and decided to design a secretive space like a cave by utilising the white smoke generated when liquid nitrogen is used.It was impressive to see people happily using the cramped space as if they were sneaking into a secret base. Sometimes people just want to sneak an ice cream in a cramped place!
